She has a Master’s in Teaching from Tufts University and has worked professionally in molecular and cellular biology at Dartmouth College. In addition, Jennifer has worked with Steven Caney Design, assisting with the research and development of Steven Caney’s books that promote creative play and learning. Most recently, she was the researcher for Steven Caney’s Ultimate Building Book. Her current research investigates the relationship between play and transformative learning, especially as it applies to science education and professional development. Digital games are of particular interest because of the ways this form of play can promote systems thinking, problem solving, self-efficacy, and allow for embedded, authentic assessment. Jennifer hopes that more people will embrace play as an essential component of learning and development.
